TASO-Basketball Guidelines for Selection of ALL-STAR GAME Officials

Criteria for selection of all-star game officials: Rotation
1. A member who has previously officiated an all-star game is ineligible.
2. A member who is currently officiating in a NCAA Division I conference is ineligible.
3. District Directors are ineligible during their term of office.
4. With the exception of single chapter districts or absent an agreement between chapters in a district to rotate the selection among the chapters within the district, it is recommended that a District Director not select a member of the chapter in which he/she is a member.
5. Members selected must have three-person mechanics experience at the varsity high school level.
6. Members selected must be a member in good standing with TASO and their local chapter.
7. Selected official must have officiated a minimum of fifteen regular season high school varsity basketball games the season prior to the all-star game.
8. Members must have a minimum of ten years officiating experience at the high school varsity level.
The Texas Girls Coaches Association Girls Basketball All-Star games will be held on Thursday, July 10, at Grand Prairie High School, located at 101 High school Drive, in Grand Prairie.
The 1A-2A-3A Girls All-Star game will begin at 5:30p and the 4A-5A Girls All-Star game will begin at 7:30p.The Texas High School Coaches Association Boys Basketball All-Star Game will be held on Monday, July 28, at 7:30p, at Bill Greehey Arena on the campus of St. Marys University in San Antonio.
No game fee or travel expenses are paid by the TGCA or THSCA to the officials.
