My fellow officials,
 

Just a quick reminder. As we start to officiate scrimmages let us not forget that we are unable to officiate scrimmages where proper equipment is not being used.

We can not officiate scrimmages if players are not wearing traditional football pants and knee pads that are covered by the pants as the rules require. We can not officiate if players are wearing only compression girdles and shorts with only pull up knee pads.These items may be worn however must be covered by traditional football pants.

This policy is noted in the UIL note sent to all Coaches and Athletic Directors last year and attached. 2010uniformexception

This is the same as we have been working for the past two years. Nothing has changed.

 

Hopefuly,as has been done in the past your Chapters have reminded your schools of this policy.

 

Please be safe and a reminder to keep Coaches and substitute players  a safe distance away from the on field  live ball activities. Let them Coach but you must be able to officiate in as safe an enviroment as is possible.
