Happy Holidays Cimarron Hills Members!
This year has been an extraordinary one for Cimarron Hills in terms of membership growth, both numerically and through our leadership. In the world of Cimarron golf, our organizations provide a most important element of member leadership. Our Men's Golf Association and our Ladies' Golf Association are embarking on a new year at Cimarron Hills - one that will see the creation of the new clubhouse, and an evolution in our membership. Each organization aims to increase member participation, create comradeship amongst members through monthly events, and provide a civic service to our community. A tall order for both the MGA and LGA!
The 2006 MGA officers have been elected as Tony Jilka, President; Duncan Forrest, Vice President; Chuck Dennis, Secretary; David Lykes, Treasurer. Our MGA will meet on December 31 to discuss goals and plans for the coming year, and I'd personally like to encourage you to attend. The strength of our MGA is dependent on the quality and amount of members participating, and we hope to increase both in the coming year. Join us before the End of Year Golf Event on December 31 to meet fellow members and find out more about the MGA. The golf event is a three-person scramble with shootout to follow for leading point winners. We'll begin at 9am, lunch is included and total fee is $25.
The Ladies Golf Association will meet January 18th for their annual meeting and election of 2006 officers. The LGA has remained an active part of the Cimarron Hills lifestyle. If you've yet to experience one of their events January 18th, 2006 is the perfect opportunity.
Please make it a goal to attend these start-of-year meetings for our Golf Associations. Your ideas and suggestions are needed and encouraged to make 2006 the best year yet.
The weekend of December 10th is a busy one for Cimarron Hills. Our annual Holiday Shamble is December 10th. We'll serve lunch at 11am and begin golfing immediately thereafter. In Cimarron tradition, the Golf Shop will hold it's annual Holiday Sale this weekend as well. It's the perfect opportunity to pick up gifts for the golfers in your life.
Cimarron Hills will again play host to the Texas Junior Golf Tour. The top junior golfers from around the state of Texas will gather to compete on one of the finest courses in Texas. We welcome you to come out and "scout" some of our state's up-and-coming young talent.
Lastly, as we do this time of year, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the amazing people with which I have the honor of working. Each day I am surrounded by a remarkable group of people that keep the well-oiled machine that is Cimarron Hills running. Thank you for your pride and dedication in this community.
Happy Holidays,
Andrew Peterson, PGA

1st Annual Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament
MAIN EVENT
The 1st Annual Poker Tournament at Cimarron Hills concluded this past week with some amazing finishes. After Chef served the players an excellent three-course meal, the players sat down at their tables. The top sixteen players faced-off, and the final table was composed of the players listed above. The prizes were picked by the players in the order they placed. David Wolf won the Main Event and walked away with the enormous custom built poker table. Biting at his heels, Susie Teitelbaum won 2nd Place in a dramatic finish and chose a certificate to one of Chef Gibson's excellent wine tasting events.
Special thanks to all who participated in the event throughout the tournament. We all had a lot of fun teaching and advising those who needed a little advice, and hopefully we created a couple avid poker players. The tournament was amazing, and we all appreciate the enthusiasm and participation of the members who played.
1st Place - David Wolf Prize: Custom Built Poker Table
2nd Place - Susie Teitelbaum Prize: Wine Tasting for Two
3rd Place - Warren Jones Prize: Dinner For Two @ Four Seasons
