11 year-old-boy launches Strikes Against Cancer website to support his mother’s 2 year battle with cancer www.strikesagainstcancer.org. th, 14th and 15th at the Triple Creek Complex.

Geordon Cox, of McKinney Texas, launches his website idea on 12.16.10 to honor his mother, Lisa Cox, to defeat cancer one strike at a time at www.strikesagainstcancer.org

"I wanted to give my mother a Christmas present that would last forever and also help all moms fighting cancer," said 11-year-old Geordon Cox, Pitcher of the McKinney Mongrels. "If I could get family members and friends to pledge any amount for every strike thrown over a season, I could help my mother and many others in cancer research."

Geordon is no stranger to cancer. His Godmother, Debbie Wright and Grandmother, Marcia won their fight against breast cancer. However, he lost his Grandmother, Rosemary Cox and Aunt, Patricia Netzer to another variation of this terrible disease. Rather than just get mad, Geordon decided to fight like his mother and give a Christmas gift that would last forever.

Many have rallied around and offered Geordon support such as McKinney Mongrels 12U Coach Robbie Robertson, Geordon’s 11U Coach Phil Taylor and Ross Powell of TCA who is providing Geordon free lessons and who is also going to host a USSSA wood bat tournament "Strikes Against Cancer" on May 13.
