Arlington Labor Day Shootout
Information

Force Select teams will once again be traveling to the DFW Metroplex to compete in the Arlington Soccer Association's 2007 Labor Day Shootout.   Force teams have been attending this tournament for several years, and have found it to be a very competitive and enjoyable tournament experience.   The tournament and associated trip has also provided Force players, parents, coaches, and trainers an opportunity to bond as teams and as a club prior to the start of the seasonal year.   

Past participants look forward to the trip each year as it not only provides a rare chance to play against teams from associations outside of the Austin/SA area, but more importantly a chance to take a fun trip with their friends and teammates.   Most don't remember the scores from their games, but the memories from the trip will last a lifetime!    

We understand that it may not be possible each players family to accompany them to the tournament.   In an effort to provide every player who wants to participate the opportunity to do so, we will be working to identify opportunities for players to share rides, rooms, and supervision with families who are able to attend.   Work with your team manager if you need help getting your player to the tournament.  

The teams have historically stayed at the Embassy Suites - DFW Airport South.   Although it's not required, the majority of the players will stay here thus adding to the experience of being in the same hotel with 200 other players from your club.  GSA receives a special rate from the hotel (see below), and a full breakfast is also provided each day.  Most importantly, the hotel is arranged in such a way that is conducive to keeping track of players w/o having to chase them around or confine them to there rooms (all rooms face into a central atrium which contains, restaurant/bar, pool, lobby, sitting areas, etc.  

Rooms with the special GSA Rate ($95/nt + tax) must be booked by 8/10.   Rooms for Friday 8/31 and Saturday 9/1 may be reserved by phone or online (see instructions below).   Rooms for Sunday 9/2 (if you want or need to stay until Monday), must be booked by contacting the hotel sales department.
