2013 Elections are for Districts: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13
 
Operating Procedures: TASO-Volleyball Division: SECTION 6    (Election of Officers)
SECTION  6.2:  The District Directors shall be elected by a plurality of eligible members in their district who may cast their votes by an on-line voting procedure as promulgated by the board of directors if the election is contested.  If the election is not contested and there is only one candidate, no on-line voting shall be necessary.  The incoming District Directors shall assume their office on January 1 following the year in which they are elected.  

Voting will be via electronic ballot beginning the first Monday in November and ending the first Monday in December.  Winner of the election will be announced the second Monday in December. 

To hold office, a person (1) must declare candidacy in writing to the TASO office by October 1 (email is permissible) (2) must have been a member of TASO-Volleyball for the previous three years. (3) must be a member in good standing of TASO-Volleyball for the preceding three years prior to their nomination, (4) must have served and completed at least one term as an elected officer of a local TASO-Volleyball chapter board. (5) must remain a member in good standing through their term of office, and (6) must submit a letter in writing (email is permissible) from their home TASO-Volleyball chapter board verifying status of membership.  The responsibility of any documentation and/or proof in this matter falls on the candidate for office. 

If more than one candidate is running for the same District Director position, each candidate in addition to the requirements of SECTION 6.2 paragraph 2.  (1) shall submit a current digital picture, (2) must submit a summary of accomplishments, (3) must submit a statement of 250 words or less addressing the constituents by November 1.   These items shall be published on the web available to the eligible members of the district.  All statements will be reviewed and approved by an appointed committee prior to posting.

Items to remember:
-  Candidates names must be submitted in writing to the TASO office no later than October 1. 
-  Candidates should submit required photo and summary of accomplishments by November 1.
-  If there is a district where there is only one declared candidate, no election will be conducted  and the one candidate will be declared the winner.
-  Ballots will be electronically available to individual members in districts conducting  elections no later than November 1.
-  Ballots must be submitted to the TASO office no later than December 1.
-  The TASO office will notify election winners in writing.
-  Winners will take office on January 1.
