The Georgetown Railroad's largest customer is one of the nation's most valuable stone reserves, Texas Crushed Stone. The success and growth of the quarry operations has enabled the Georgetown Railroad to establish large support facilities for most bulk commodities and inbound freight. The railroad owns over 800 freight and specialty cars, has the ability to launch and receive unit trains, and has 6,000 acres available for transload and storage. Additionally, the railroad operates two complete mechanical shops for locomotive and freight car maintenance. Since our business was built on aggregates, we have been able to take those efficiencies and convey them to various other commodity groups.
